the post Mesquete to Tuweep cliffs North Rim Grand Canyon is part one of this trip.

I do not have the knowlege of how to open two or three mapquest files to attach them together to make the one big mother file. If you share this with me, I would be very thankful. ( pschoggens@gmail.com )

I discovered I can only upload 3 files per post, so here is the rest of the story.


The Savanic staircase can only be accessed from the East entrance thanks to land closures. My trip was prior to the closure and I am not sure where they plan to put the gates, but the go around is 90 miles if you try the West entrance which has a portion of the entrance road passing through the upper NE portion of the NPS land, great use of tax dollars.

I feel some of the missing tracks are due to user error, but overall there should be enough to keep you busy and get you back to safety.

This loop from Tuweep to the river hike passes by lava fields, through the Mt Logan Wilderness, and past Bar 10 Ranch, which is a working ranch that also provides public services. Bar10.com

I emailed ahead to request a fuel boost of 5 gal per rig, which they provided. We also purchased a place at the supper table and hot shower.

Truly an oasis on a long off road trip.
